If you already have a criminal conviction, you may be entitled to ask a higher court to review your conviction based on a violation of your rights during the original proceedings. Or, if you were put on probation, you may wish to petition the court to modify the terms and conditions of your probation, or even terminate it early. Reeves Legal firmly believes in ensuring all steps are taken to protect your rights, and has a wide breadth of knowledge and experience in the complex legal analysis post-conviction work often requires. We represent clients in all stages of post-convictions proceeding - from reviewing your original case in its entirety, to filing the necessary briefs and any subsequent hearings that may take place.

Dependency/Neglect cases are civil cases, and not criminal in nature. However, often times a dependency/neglect case is filed due to pending criminal investigations or charges - whether that be substance abuse or alcohol use in the home, domestic violence between parents, child abuse, or sex offenses. It is very important that you have an attorney who understands both areas of law in order to preserve your relationship with your child or children. Even if you are not the parent whose actions are alleged to have cause a dependency/neglect case to be filed, you will be named as a party to the action. It can be even more important to have a skilled lawyer to represent you in those circumstances.

Post-Conviction

Depending on the circumstances, the Department of Revenue (or Department of Motor Vehicles/DMV) may initiate an administrative action to revoke or suspend your license. Often times, this is due to DUI criminal charges. It is important to know that the DMV can revoke and suspend your license before you’ve even gone to court on pending DUI charges. The DMV action is often quick, and time is of the essence. Perkins Reeves Legal Group knows how critical having a driver’s license is, especially when one has a job and children that depend on that license. We can help you navigate the tricky DMV system, and stand on your side in DMV hearings.
